WILLEMSTAD – A man was injured Friday morning during a workplace accident in the neighborhood of Paradijs after falling from a ladder while carrying out construction work on a building.
According to the Korps Politie Curaçao, the police dispatch center received a report of the incident around 8:37 a.m. at a company located in Paradijs.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim lying on the ground with injuries to his leg.
The man reportedly told police that he had been performing work on a building earlier that morning while standing on a ladder. During the work, he made an unfortunate movement and slipped, causing his leg to become trapped between the ladder and a wall.
Ambulance personnel provided first aid at the scene before transporting the victim to the emergency department of Curaçao Medical Center for further medical treatment.
The labor inspectorate has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
