WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police have arrested a 43-year-old woman suspected of involvement in fraud at a casino in Otrobanda.
According to information released Friday, the alleged offense occurred on August 11.
The suspect was arrested Thursday morning at approximately 9:30 on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Following her arrest, the woman was brought before an assistant public prosecutor, who reviewed the legality of her detention.
She remains in custody while authorities continue their investigation.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the casino, the amount of money allegedly involved or details about how the suspected fraud was carried out.
It is also not yet clear whether investigators believe other individuals were involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
