WILLEMSTAD – A 35-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of attempted murder and making threats after she allegedly poured gasoline over her neighbor during a dispute and threatened to set him on fire.
Police responded to a report of a confrontation between two neighbors on Faradayweg at around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with a man who said he had become involved in an argument with his female neighbor. According to his statement to police, the woman poured gasoline over him during the confrontation and subsequently threatened to set him on fire.
Following the initial investigation, police arrested the woman at approximately 6:55 p.m. She was identified by the initials S.S.K., is 35 years old and was born in Curaçao.
The woman was brought before an assistant public prosecutor, who ordered that she remain in custody pending further investigation.
Police are investigating the incident as attempted murder and making threats.
