BOGOTA – Colombian low-cost airline Wingo expects to transport more than 703,000 passengers during the June and July 2026 mid-year holiday season, representing an increase of approximately 15 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the airline, more than 492,000 travelers are expected to fly across its 16 domestic routes in Colombia, while another 211,000 passengers are projected to travel on its 27 international routes.
Wingo said the busiest domestic connections are expected to be the routes between Bogotá and Medellín, Cali and Cartagena.
Internationally, the airline projects the strongest demand on the Bogotá–Punta Cana, Bogotá–Caracas and Aruba–Medellín routes.
The airline is also expanding its network with five new direct routes for the mid-year vacation season.
Among the new services are:
- Bucaramanga–Aruba with two weekly flights starting June 17;
- Medellín–Montego Bay with three weekly flights beginning June 23;
- Medellín–Guatemala City with three weekly flights starting June 25;
- Barranquilla–Aruba with two weekly flights beginning July 9;
- Bogotá–Valencia with three weekly flights launching July 14.
The new Bucaramanga and Barranquilla connections further strengthen Aruba’s growing air connectivity with Colombia. According to the Aruba Airport Authority, Colombia now represents nearly half of all Latin American seat capacity into Aruba.
Wingo currently operates as one of the region’s major low-cost carriers and is part of Copa Holdings.
The airline’s commercial strategy, led by Jorge Jiménez, focuses on expanding direct and affordable travel options across Latin America and the Caribbean during peak vacation periods.
Wingo has steadily expanded its Caribbean network in recent years, including routes to Aruba, Curaçao, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
