PHILIPSBURG – Regional airline Winair has introduced a new payment option that allows eligible travelers to pay for their airline tickets in installments, making air travel more accessible and flexible for customers across the Caribbean.
The new arrangement is available to qualifying passengers who book their flights through the airline's website. Instead of paying the full ticket price upfront, travelers can choose a payment plan that better fits their budget and financial situation.
According to Winair, the full amount of the ticket must still be paid before departure, but the installment option allows customers to spread the cost over time rather than making a single payment at the time of booking.
Greater Flexibility for Travelers
The airline says the initiative is designed to provide customers with greater flexibility when planning their trips. By allowing payments to be divided into smaller amounts, travelers can secure flights earlier without immediately bearing the full financial burden of the ticket.
Winair believes the new option will make regional travel more affordable and accessible, particularly for passengers who plan trips well in advance.
The airline noted that the installment payment system is intended to help customers manage their travel expenses more effectively while maintaining access to destinations throughout the Caribbean.
Part of Broader Accessibility Efforts
According to Winair, the introduction of installment payments forms part of the company's broader efforts to make travel within the Caribbean easier and more convenient.
The airline has increasingly focused on improving customer experience and expanding travel options throughout the region, where air transportation remains an essential link between islands.
Celebrating 65 Years
The launch of the new payment service comes as Winair celebrates its 65th anniversary.
Founded in 1961, the St. Maarten-based carrier has grown into one of the Caribbean's most important regional airlines, connecting destinations across the northeastern Caribbean, including Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten, Saba, St. Eustatius, Dominica, and several other islands.
Winair said the new installment payment option reflects its continued commitment to adapting its services to the changing needs of Caribbean travelers while making regional connectivity more accessible to a wider range of passengers.
