WILLEMSTAD – Football icons Wesley Sneijder, Alessandro Nesta, and Fernando Morientes will be among the star attractions at the fourth edition of the Legends Football Tournament Curaçao. The international veterans tournament will take place on April 9 and 10 at Capital C, located next to the airport.
The event was officially presented during a press conference hosted by Curaçao Airport Holding and the Curaçao Tourist Board. This year, eight countries will participate: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Curaçao. Italy and Spain will be represented at the tournament for the first time.
In addition to Sneijder, Nesta and Morientes, several other former international stars are expected to travel to the island, including Lúcio, Michel Salgado, Guti, Marco Materazzi, Luca Toni, Márcio Santos, and Maniche. Their presence reinforces the tournament’s strong international character, bringing together former top players from Europe and South America.
According to the organizers, the event has grown beyond a traditional football tournament. It now combines sport with entertainment, tourism, and cultural activities, contributing to the international promotion of Curaçao as both a sporting and tourist destination.
Ahead of the tournament, a free meet-and-greet session for fans will be held on April 8, giving supporters the opportunity to interact with the legendary players before the competition begins.
