WILLEMSTAD – Motorists traveling along Weg naar Westpunt should expect delays on Thursday, September 3, as Aqualectra temporarily closes part of the road near Gatu to carry out repaving work.
The temporary closure will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
According to Aqualectra, the roadwork follows maintenance carried out on the water distribution network in the area on Saturday, August 29. The affected section of the road now needs to be resurfaced.
During the asphalt work, traffic will be temporarily diverted via the shoulder of the road.
Aqualectra is advising motorists traveling through Gatu and along Weg naar Westpunt to pay close attention to temporary traffic signs indicating alternative routes and traffic arrangements.
The utility company warned that traffic in the area will move more slowly than usual while the work is underway.
Residents and motorists are being asked to exercise caution and allow additional travel time Thursday morning.
Aqualectra apologized for the inconvenience and thanked road users for their patience and understanding while the company completes the work.
