WILLEMSTAD – Improvement works have started at Waaigat as part of efforts to make the area more attractive and better organized. The project includes repairs to the concrete benches and repainting of the parking areas.
Work began on Sunday, August 23, and is expected to continue for approximately two weeks.
Contractor Solution & Mantenshon is carrying out the project on behalf of the Public Works Department (OW).
The improvements are aimed at enhancing the appearance of Waaigat while creating a more orderly public space, particularly around the parking facilities.
Waaigat is located in the heart of Willemstad, adjacent to Punda and Scharloo, and forms an important part of the city center. The area is used daily by motorists, pedestrians, residents, workers and visitors.
Public Works is asking people traveling through or using the area to exercise additional caution while the work is underway.
The project is expected to be completed in early September, provided the work proceeds according to schedule.
