WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP) has published its latest overview of building permit applications, showing 16 applications submitted during week 36 of 2026 and seven permits granted.

Among the projects listed in the publication is an application for the construction of 25 apartments at Frederikstraat 114-124 and 134-144. The application, numbered 623/2025, was made available for collection on September 2.

Another application concerns the expansion of a hotel with 12 rooms at Koraalspechtweg, in the Vredenberg area near Kintjan. That application, numbered 31/2026, has a collection date of September 3.

The Ministry also lists an application for the construction of a residence at Hofi St. Joris E-7. Another project concerns the construction of a storage facility on an upper floor at Dr. W.P. Maalweg 28 in Saliña Abou.

At Zakitó, an application has been submitted for the construction of a porter’s house, while another application concerns the construction of a three-unit apartment building in Souax.

According to the VVRP publication, interested parties who may be affected by a building permit have the opportunity to submit an objection. The deadline for filing an objection is six weeks, starting from the day following the indicated collection date.

The weekly publication of building permit applications provides residents with an opportunity to review proposed developments in their neighborhoods and, where applicable, formally object within the legally established period.
