WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Traffic and Transport Service (UOVV) will open registration on September 14 for two public transportation training courses aimed at both prospective drivers and people already working in the sector.
According to UOVV, the courses are intended to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to work professionally in Curaçao’s public transportation sector.
Certificate Course A is intended for people interested in entering the industry and will prepare participants to work as auxiliary public transport drivers.
Certificate Course B is aimed at people who are already active in the public transportation sector and want to further develop their qualifications to become permit holders.
Registration links for both courses will be published on the VVRP website and through its social media channels on September 14. Registration will remain open through September 21.
UOVV is encouraging people interested in public transportation to take advantage of the training opportunity. The agency says the sector has promising prospects, with increasing emphasis on customer care, quality service and its contribution to Curaçao’s local economy.
The announcement forms part of efforts to professionalize the public transportation sector by ensuring that drivers and future permit holders have the necessary knowledge and qualifications.
