WILLEMSTAD – Police on Curaçao have arrested two women suspected of committing acts of vandalism at several locations on the island and posting videos of their actions on social media.
The arrests were made on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. by detectives acting on orders from the Public Prosecution Service. The women are suspected of attempted arson, vandalism and committing acts of public indecency.

The case gained widespread attention in recent days after videos showing the incidents went viral online, triggering strong reactions from the public.
According to the police, the footage shows the women leaving trash such as boxes, cans, bottles and packaging on beaches and other public areas. In another video, they appear to attempt to set a bench on fire.
Authorities also reported that in one of the recordings, one of the women performed what police described as an immoral act in public in front of a church building.
The incidents sparked widespread outrage among residents and organizations across the island. Police said the behavior represented a direct violation of societal norms and values.
The suspects, identified as M.S.K. and A.S.K., both 36 years old and born in Ukraine, have been presented before an assistant prosecutor. Their pre-trial detention has been ordered while the investigation continues.
Police stated that the women could face additional charges depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
