Local, Police, | By Correspondent July 14, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Two separate home invasions took place during the night in Toni Kunchi and Mahaai, leaving one resident injured and raising questions about whether the incidents may be connected. The Curaçao Police Force’s Robbery Team (Atrako Team) is investigating both cases.

In Toni Kunchi, several armed suspects entered a residence and threatened the family members who were inside. During the robbery, the perpetrators stole, among other items, a woman’s handbag.

A male resident was seriously assaulted during the incident and suffered injuries to his head. He was transported by ambulance to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for medical treatment.

According to local reports, the suspects found only a limited amount of money inside the home. Indian banknotes were reportedly discovered among the items, although police have not officially confirmed this information.

Second robbery in Mahaai

The second home invasion occurred at a residence along Mahaaiweg. In this case, a couple was attacked inside their home.

The perpetrators reportedly stole several valuables, including a laptop, a Rolex watch and other personal belongings.

The couple was not physically injured but was left shocked by the incident. Victim support services were contacted to provide assistance.

Police are currently investigating both cases and have not yet determined whether the same suspects were responsible for both home invasions. The authorities are asking anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
