WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police have arrested two men as part of an ongoing investigation into the seizure of approximately 200 kilograms of cocaine found aboard a boat intercepted by the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard in September 2025.
The arrests were carried out on Tuesday, August 4, by detectives from the Organized Crime Division under the direction of the Public Prosecution Service.
The suspects, identified by their initials as J.Ph., 35, and S.V., 48, are both Curaçao-born.
According to police, J.Ph. was taken into custody at the Curaçao Detention and Correction Center (SDKK), while S.V. was arrested at a residence on Kaya Dorus.
Investigators also executed judicial search warrants at both locations, where they seized items considered relevant to the ongoing investigation.
The case stems from an operation on September 18, 2025, when the Coast Guard intercepted a vessel carrying approximately 200 kilograms of cocaine.
Both suspects have appeared before an assistant prosecutor, who ordered their continued detention while the investigation proceeds.
Police have not released additional details about the evidence seized or the specific roles the two suspects are alleged to have played in the drug trafficking operation.
