Two Arrested in Curaçao Vehicle Document Fraud Investigation

Local, Police, | By Correspondent April 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Two men have been arrested in Curaçao as part of an ongoing investigation into fraud involving vehicle documents, authorities confirmed.

The case began at the end of March when irregularities were detected at the Keuringslokaal, the island’s vehicle inspection center. The findings prompted an investigation into possible manipulation of official vehicle documentation.

A 36-year-old Curaçaoan man was arrested at the inspection site after the suspected fraud was uncovered. Later the same day, a second suspect, aged 35, voluntarily reported to the detective department.

Both men are suspected of involvement in the document fraud scheme, though police have not disclosed further details about the nature or scale of the irregularities.

The suspects have been brought before a prosecutor and remain in custody while the investigation continues.

Authorities have indicated that additional arrests cannot be ruled out, as the case may involve more individuals connected to the fraudulent activities.
