WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP), in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance/Tax Department, the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Service (BPD), and the Ministry of General Affairs, has organized a training program focused on information security.

Through this training, employees were better prepared to handle sensitive data in a secure manner and to comply with the standards of the Baseline Information Security for Government (BIO). Given that public sector employees work daily with confidential information and digital systems, and that digital threats such as ransomware attacks and data breaches are increasing, the training focused on enhancing knowledge, awareness, and practical skills.
The program combined theoretical instruction with practical examples and real-life case studies. The first training session involved a small group of thirteen employees—six from VVRP, one from the Ministry of Finance/Tax Department, five from BPD, and one from the Ministry of General Affairs—allowing for personalized guidance and practical adaptation.
In 2026, additional employees who work with sensitive information will be given the opportunity to participate in the training. The program was delivered by Caribglobal Data Services (CDS) and began on February 4, 2026. The training lasted three full days and required active participation from all attendees.
With this initiative, the ministries have taken an important step toward building a more secure and reliable digital government.
