WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s tourist police unit, Politur, closed 2025 with a positive financial result of nearly 900,000 guilders, reflecting a significant improvement compared to the previous year.

According to the organization’s annual report, total revenues increased to nearly 2.5 million guilders, driven in part by higher contributions from partners and stakeholders within the tourism sector. Politur described the outcome as a clear strengthening of its operational capacity.

The organization’s financial position is considered solid, with more than 267,000 guilders in available liquidity, sufficient to meet ongoing obligations. At the same time, Politur invested over 700,000 guilders in vehicles, ICT systems, and other operational resources aimed at enhancing its effectiveness.

Operationally, Politur recorded 212 incidents in 2025, ranging from theft and vandalism to providing assistance to tourists and responding to traffic-related incidents.

The report also highlights steps taken toward further professionalization and digitalization. These include the introduction of new registration systems, improved fleet management, and the expansion of its vehicle fleet.

In addition, cooperation with key partners such as the Curaçao Police Force and tourism organizations was intensified, supporting a more coordinated approach to safety within the island’s tourism sector.

Politur emphasized that continued investment in both resources and partnerships remains essential to maintaining safety for visitors and supporting Curaçao’s tourism industry.
