Local, | By Correspondent September 14, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Dutch cycling star Demi Vollering, winner of the Tour de France Femmes and the 2026 Giro d’Italia, will compete in Curaçao’s Kärcher Duo Xtreme mountain bike race on November 15, according to organizer Curaçao Cycling Events.

Vollering will appear at the invitation of the foundation when the race gets underway in Sint Willibrordus. Organizers describe the Kärcher Duo Xtreme as Curaçao’s toughest mountain bike competition.

The event is open to mountain bikers with sufficient experience and physical conditioning. Participants can choose between courses of 50 and 70 kilometers through the challenging terrain of Banda’bou.

One of the distinguishing features of the Kärcher Duo Xtreme is that competitors race in pairs. According to the organizers, the combination of Curaçao’s rugged hills and the duo format makes the event different from other mountain bike races.

The competition has developed an international following, attracting riders from Aruba, Bonaire, Trinidad, Suriname, Canada, the United States, Colombia and the Netherlands.

Several prominent professional cyclists have participated in previous editions at the invitation of Curaçao Cycling Events, including Dylan van Baarle, Niki Terpstra, Fabio Jakobsen and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot.

Vollering’s participation adds another major name to that list and is expected to draw additional attention to this year’s event following her successes in two of women’s cycling’s most prestigious stage races.

The Kärcher Duo Xtreme will take place on November 15 in Sint Willibrordus. Registration and additional information are available through the Curaçao Cycling Events website.
