Three Construction and Materials Companies Sign New Collective Labor Agreements

WILLEMSTAD – Three major companies in the construction and raw materials sector in Curaçao have signed new collective labor agreements with the trade union UGTK-CADMU.

The agreements involve Curaçaose Wegenbouw Maatschappij (CWM), Mijnmaatschappij Curaçao (MMC), and Betonindustrie Brievengat (BIB). The new contracts will be in effect from 2026 through 2028.

All three companies are sister organizations within the Janssen de Jong Curaçao & Bonaire group and operate in sectors such as road construction, quarrying activities, and concrete production.

According to a joint statement, the new agreements reaffirm the cooperation between employers and employees for the coming years and are intended to support the continuity of operations within the sector.

No details were disclosed in the announcement regarding specific employment conditions, such as wage increases or other improvements for workers. Instead, the companies and the union emphasized that the agreements are primarily focused on stability and maintaining a sustainable working relationship in the industry.
