Local, Police, | By Correspondent April 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Police in Curaçao have arrested three men in separate investigations linked to vehicle-related crimes, including document fraud and theft, the Korps Politie Curaçao confirmed.

The main investigation began after irregularities were discovered on March 31 at the vehicle inspection center, known as the Keuringslokaal. Authorities found indications that forged documents had been used in an attempt to register a stolen vehicle under a new name.

A 36-year-old suspect was arrested at the inspection facility in connection with the case. Later the same day, a second suspect, aged 35, voluntarily reported to the detective department. Both men are suspected of involvement in fraudulent activities related to vehicle registration.

In a separate case, a 25-year-old man was arrested following an earlier traffic incident on December 5 in Otrobanda. The investigation revealed that the motorcycle involved in the accident had been stolen in Netherlands.

All three suspects have been presented to an assistant prosecutor and remain in custody as the investigations continue.

Police are now examining whether additional individuals may be involved in the broader network of vehicle-related crime on the island.
