Three Arrested in Connection with Livestock Theft and Assault Case in De Savaan

WILLEMSTAD – Three men have been arrested in connection with an alleged livestock theft and assault incident that occurred Sunday morning in the De Savaan area, according to police.

The incident unfolded on June 14, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., when the police dispatch center received a report of a fight at a farm in the area. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where the first responding unit found a man who had been injured during the altercation.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the owner of the farm had allegedly caught two men in the act of stealing his goats shortly before the confrontation occurred. One of the suspects managed to flee the scene initially.

Police said a fight subsequently broke out, during which one of the suspects sustained a fracture near his eye. An ambulance transported the injured suspect to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for advanced medical treatment.

Following treatment, police arrested the suspect, identified by initials C.S.S., 47, born in Curaçao, in connection with the case. Authorities also arrested the farm owner, identified by initials S.M.A.P., 52, also born in Curaçao, as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Later in the day, citizens brought a second suspect, identified by initials J.M.M., 62, born in Curaçao, to detectives. He was subsequently taken into custody.

All three suspects were presented before an assistant prosecutor, who ordered their detention pending further investigation.

Police have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
