WILLEMSTAD – Thirteen police recruits officially received their diplomas on Monday, October 19, 2026, after successfully completing the Basic Police Training Program (BPO-2025-I), marking the beginning of their careers in law enforcement in Curaçao.
The graduates began their training on January 6, 2025, and became the first group to complete the updated Basic Police Training Program based on the “Kwalificatiedossier Medewerker Noodhulp en Handhaving,” a qualification framework developed through cooperation between the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) and the Training Institute for Law Enforcement and Security (ORV).

The program focuses on developing the knowledge, practical skills, and professional attitudes necessary for police officers to perform their duties effectively. Particular emphasis is placed on professionalism, integrity, discipline, and respect for the community.
During the graduation ceremony, ORV Director Alpha Falbru, Chief of Police Raymond Ellis, and Minister of Justice Shalten Hato addressed the graduates, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development and the responsibilities associated with serving as a police officer.

The speakers reminded the new officers that their profession requires more than technical knowledge and law enforcement skills. It also demands integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to protecting and serving the people of Curaçao.
A special moment during the ceremony was the recognition of three graduates who distinguished themselves through outstanding performance during their training. Jadon Bracelly, Igvienny Djaoen, and Ray-Einstein Polanco received special acknowledgment for their achievements.
ORV expressed pride in the graduating class, describing BPO-2025-I as a disciplined group that demonstrated excellent performance throughout the training program.

The graduation represents another step in preparing new personnel for the Curaçao Police Force, where officers are expected to respond to emergencies, enforce the law, maintain public order, and contribute to community safety.
ORV congratulated all thirteen graduates on successfully completing their training and wished them success as they begin their professional careers.
The institution concluded its message with an expression of confidence in the new officers: “Curaçao is counting on you!”
