Thieves Steal Up to 60 Air Conditioners After Breaking Into Seru Loraweg Warehouse

Local, Police, | By Correspondent August 14, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Thieves broke into a warehouse on Seru Loraweg through the roof and stole dozens of air-conditioning units intended for homes currently under construction.

The burglars reportedly climbed onto the roof of the building, created an opening and then lowered themselves into the warehouse.

Between 40 and 60 split-unit air conditioners were stolen. The units had already been sold and were intended for installation in a luxury residential development.

Police were called after the burglary was discovered. Forensic investigators and officers responsible for examining surveillance footage also arrived at the scene as part of the investigation.

Several security cameras are reportedly located in the surrounding area, and investigators are expected to examine available footage for information that could help identify the perpetrators or vehicles involved.

The burglary comes amid heightened concern about a series of major break-ins on Curaçao. However, according to morning newspaper Èxtra, it is still too early to determine whether the Seru Loraweg burglary is connected to the other large-scale break-ins reported last weekend.

Police are investigating who was responsible and where the stolen air conditioners may have been taken.

Anyone with information about the stolen units or the people involved in the burglary is asked to contact police through the anonymous tip line 108 or emergency number 917.
