A Day of Information, Career Guidance, and Opportunities

WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Justice continues to invest in people and in the future of Curaçao through its campaign “My Motivation to Serve My Country.” As part of this initiative, the ministry is inviting anyone interested in a career within the justice sector to visit its offices on Saturday, May 30, for information, guidance, and advice about the various vacancies currently available.

Since April, the Ministry of Justice has opened a range of vacancies aimed at strengthening organizations that contribute daily to public safety, law enforcement, and the protection of the community. Several of these vacancies will close on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The ministry is therefore encouraging individuals who have already applied, as well as those who still have questions about the recruitment process, to visit the Ministry of Justice building in Punda between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

During the event, visitors will receive assistance in verifying that all required application documents, including résumés, motivation letters, and supporting paperwork, have been submitted correctly. Ministry representatives will also be available to answer questions and provide detailed information about career opportunities within the justice sector.

Opportunities for Young People

In addition to the vacancies closing on May 31, the Ministry of Justice announced that applications remain open until August 31, 2026, for the positions of Police Officer Trainee, Firefighter Trainee, and Security Officer at the Curaçao Correctional Institution (SDKK).

These opportunities are aimed at young people aged 17 and older who aspire to contribute to a safer and stronger Curaçao. According to the ministry, a career in these organizations is more than just employment; it is an opportunity to serve the community, protect citizens, and contribute to the well-being of the island.

Interested candidates can apply online through the recruitment website. For those who do not yet have a digital résumé, the ministry will offer support during the information day to help prepare and digitize the necessary documents, enabling applicants to complete the recruitment process.

Information Sessions

Throughout the morning, visitors will be able to attend information sessions presented by representatives of the various organizations operating under the Ministry of Justice.

The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a live broadcast of Tribuna Popular on Radio Hoyer 101.9 FM.

The following information sessions are scheduled:

·         10:00 a.m. – Curaçao Police Force information session

·         11:00 a.m. – Curaçao Fire Department information session

·         12:00 p.m. – SDKK information session

Participants will receive detailed information about daily responsibilities, recruitment procedures, training programs, career advancement opportunities, and the duties associated with each profession.

Family-Friendly Event

The Ministry of Justice has also designed the event as a family-friendly morning. Activities for children, free popcorn, and other amenities will be available to make the visit enjoyable for all attendees. Organizers note, however, that supplies will be available while stocks last.

Through the “My Motivation to Serve My Country” campaign, the Ministry of Justice aims to encourage citizens, particularly young people, to pursue careers in public service and play an active role in promoting the safety, security, and development of Curaçao.

The ministry is encouraging anyone interested in a future within the justice sector not to miss this opportunity to learn more about the organizations dedicated to serving and protecting the people of Curaçao.
