Taxi Drivers Face Parking Shortage at Mambo Beach Amid Construction Works

Local, Police, | By Correspondent April 21, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Taxi drivers operating at Mambo Beach are experiencing disruptions due to a shortage of parking space caused by ongoing construction activities in the area.

According to the transport union SINUSTA, the issue stems from the development of a new hotel, which has led to temporary restrictions and additional safety measures. These changes have reduced the space available for taxis to pick up and drop off passengers.

SINUSTA says the situation is affecting both drivers and the quality of service provided to tourists, particularly in one of the island’s busiest beach destinations. The union also claims that not all drivers were properly informed in advance about the changes.

The organization has entered into discussions with representatives of Mambo Beach in an effort to find a solution and improve conditions for taxi operators.

The restrictions are expected to remain in place while construction continues, though it is unclear how long the situation will persist.
