THE HAGUE – Discussions between Curaçao and the Netherlands on sustainable economic alternatives are already underway, according to Dutch ministers.
While emphasizing Curaçao’s autonomy in economic decision-making, the Dutch government confirmed that ongoing consultations are focused on reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting sustainable development.
These discussions take place within existing Kingdom consultation frameworks and include support measures such as funding for strengthening energy infrastructure.
The Netherlands has made resources available through programs aimed at accelerating the energy transition, signaling a continued effort to balance economic development with climate objectives.
