Earlier Monday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office had requested the judicial authorities in La Vega, Dominican Republic, to detain R.M.C. as part of the STRATEGO investigation. Dominican authorities subsequently carried out the arrest.
On the same day, another suspect identified as K.M.C. was arrested in Curaçao in connection with the same investigation.
STRATEGO is being conducted under the direction of the Curaçao Public Prosecutor’s Office by a joint investigative team consisting of members of the Recherche Samenwerkingsteam (RST) and the Curaçao Police Force (KPC).
According to prosecutors, R.M.C. is suspected of 22 criminal offenses. The allegations include participation in the criminal organization known as No Limit Soldiers (NLS), as well as involvement in various offenses related to violence, drugs and firearms.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office describes NLS as a criminal organization responsible for several killings and murders committed within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and in other countries.
Authorities also suspect the organization of having been involved in international drug trafficking for an extended period.
The arrest in the Dominican Republic demonstrates the international scope of the STRATEGO investigation, with Curaçao authorities working with foreign judicial authorities to locate and detain suspects.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has not yet provided details about the specific offenses allegedly committed by R.M.C., nor has it disclosed the allegations against K.M.C.
The case remains under investigation.
