Starlink Receives Concession to Begin Operations in Curaçao

Local, Technology, | By Correspondent October 6, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Starlink has received authorization to begin operating in Curaçao after Minister responsible for Telecommunications Charles Cooper signed the concession allowing the satellite internet provider to offer its services on the island.

The signing clears an important regulatory hurdle for Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX, to enter the Curaçao telecommunications market.

Starlink provides internet connectivity through a network of satellites in low-Earth orbit. Customers typically connect to the network using a satellite dish installed at their home or business, making the service particularly useful in locations where conventional fixed internet infrastructure is limited or unavailable.

The arrival of Starlink will introduce another option to Curaçao's internet market and could also provide an alternative means of connectivity for businesses and households.

The information released about the concession did not specify when commercial service will officially begin, what subscription packages will be available in Curaçao or how much customers will pay for the equipment and monthly service.

Further details are expected as Starlink prepares to begin operations on the island.
