SPRINT Marks Next Step in Professionalizing Curaçao’s Public Services

Local, | By Press release September 25, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao government is taking another step toward improving and professionalizing public services through a two-week “SPRINT” program focused on streamlining government processes within the digital e-CuraCase system.

The SPRINT is being held from September 21 through October 2 at the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Services (BPD). Civil servants are working together with several agencies from the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP), the Ministry of General Affairs (AZ) and software company Xxllnc.

The sessions focus on practical cooperation between government departments and on improving how applications from citizens and businesses are processed.

During the program, civil servants are working on digitalizing and optimizing existing procedures. They examine real-life cases, identify areas where processes between different government agencies can be better coordinated and determine what information and data are needed throughout interministerial procedures.

A central element of the initiative is so-called case-oriented working, under which all information related to an application is collected and maintained in a single digital file.

By registering and sharing information in a standardized manner, civil servants from different agencies and ministries should be able to work together more effectively. The government says the approach should also allow citizens and businesses to receive faster and better service while providing greater insight into the status of their applications.

The SPRINT is not limited to theoretical discussions. Participants are using examples from their daily work to identify bottlenecks and determine where procedures can be improved.

The objective is to develop a more standardized and transparent system of public service delivery while strengthening cooperation between government entities.

The program forms part of the government's broader ambition to create a public administration that operates reliably, transparently and efficiently while providing modern services that better meet the needs of Curaçao's residents and businesses.

Digitalization is expected to play an increasingly important role in that process.

According to the government, it will continue modernizing its procedures and working methods with the goal of providing services to the community more quickly and efficiently.
