WILLEMSTAD – Shooting sports in Curaçao are showing signs of growth, with shooting club TRIGGER emerging as a dominant force in the ongoing OSFC competition.

During recent matches held on the 25-meter range, TRIGGER athletes secured top positions in both the women’s and men’s categories, highlighting the club’s strong performance.

In the women’s 25-meter pistol event, Ingrid Gonesh claimed first place with a score of 526 points, followed by fellow TRIGGER shooter Mikayla Huizer in second. Third place went to Olievia Leito of CPSC, who made her debut at this level of competition.

In the men’s center fire pistol category, Philip Elhage of TRIGGER took the top spot with 522 points. Sedney Martis of FAREM finished second, while Linroyd Petronilia of CPSC secured third place, also marking his debut at this level.

According to organizers, participation in the competition has increased compared to last year, a development seen as a positive sign for the sport’s growth on the island. The federation expressed hope that this upward trend will continue in the coming years.

The competition is set to continue next weekend with events in the 10-meter air pistol discipline for both men and women.
