WILLEMSTAD – The SDG Council paid an official visit to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The SDG Council serves as the interministerial coordination body for the various ministries of Curaçao regarding the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the meeting, the Governor was informed about the challenges ministries face in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the level of cooperation required between government institutions to successfully implement them.
Council members also explained how the ministries are working together on the priority SDG objectives established by the government in support of the country’s sustainable development and the well-being of Curaçao’s population.
Governor de Kort emphasized the importance of an integrated and collaborative approach in carrying out the SDG agenda and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the ministries and policy advisors involved in the process.

· Virlens Els, Senior Policy Advisor at SOAW
· Chalrinela Conradus-Corasol, Policy Advisor at VVRP
· Claudia Ramirez, Senior Policy Advisor at DBB
The Sustainable Development Goals are a set of global objectives established by the United Nations aimed at addressing issues such as poverty, education, health, sustainability, climate change, and economic development by 2030.
