SBTNO Clears Way for Russell Ursula as New C-Post Supervisory Board Chairman

Local, | By Correspondent July 16, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Russell Ursula has been nominated as the new chairman of the supervisory board of C-Post International. Government advisory body SBTNO has reviewed the proposed appointment and concluded that there are no serious objections against his nomination.

Ursula has been serving as a member of C-Post’s supervisory board since 2026 and fulfills the profile of legal expert within the board. According to the government, he has sufficient administrative experience, leadership qualities and knowledge of legal and strategic matters required for the chairmanship.

SBTNO assessed Ursula’s curriculum vitae and the motivation behind the nomination. Based on that review, the supervisory authority concluded that he meets the requirements for the position of chairman.

The appointment is not yet final and remains a proposal by the government.

While SBTNO did not raise objections against Ursula’s nomination, the supervisory body did criticize the current profile description of C-Post’s supervisory board. The document, which dates from 2019, is considered outdated and no longer aligned with the current model profile requirements for government-owned companies.

SBTNO emphasized that the profile description should be reviewed annually to ensure that it remains suitable for the organization’s needs. The government has therefore been advised to instruct C-Post to update the document as soon as possible.

The recommendation forms part of SBTNO’s broader oversight role in ensuring that appointments within government companies are based on transparency, good governance and appropriate qualifications.
