RKCS Launches Major Organizational Overhaul to Improve Education Quality

Local, | By Correspondent July 9, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Roman Catholic Central School Board (RKCS), Curaçao's largest school organization, has launched a major restructuring initiative aimed at improving the quality of education, strengthening organizational efficiency and increasing transparency.

The transformation, introduced under the banner "RKCS 2.0: A New Direction," represents a significant reorganization of the school board's management structure and support services.

According to information shared with staff, employees have already been informed of the upcoming changes through an official letter outlining the organization's new strategic direction.

One of the most notable changes is a reduction in the size of the executive management team. The current three-member leadership will be streamlined to two directors as part of the effort to create a more efficient organizational structure.

In addition, RKCS plans to introduce several new positions, including education managers and quality advisors. These roles are intended to strengthen educational support, improve quality assurance and shorten communication lines between the central organization and individual schools.

The school board believes the new structure will enable faster decision-making and provide schools with more direct guidance and support in their day-to-day operations.

As part of the reorganization, all newly created positions will soon be opened for recruitment. Both internal employees and external candidates will have the opportunity to apply, allowing the organization to attract the expertise needed to support its renewed vision.

The restructuring forms part of RKCS's broader ambition to modernize its organization while placing greater emphasis on educational quality, accountability and effective management. By simplifying its leadership structure and investing in specialized educational support, the school board hopes to better respond to the evolving needs of students, teachers and school communities across Curaçao.

RKCS oversees a large network of Roman Catholic primary and secondary schools on the island and is one of the country's most influential educational institutions. The "RKCS 2.0" initiative marks one of the most significant organizational reforms undertaken by the school board in recent years.
