Resident Injured in House Fire on John B. Gorsira Road

WILLEMSTAD – A resident was injured Wednesday morning after a fire broke out at a home on John B. Gorsira Road, prompting an emergency response from police and firefighters.

Police received a report of the fire at approximately 8:30 a.m. When the first patrol officers arrived at the scene, they found part of the home's interior engulfed in flames. The Curaçao Fire Department was immediately called in to extinguish the blaze.

According to police, one of the occupants attempted to limit the damage by carrying a burning mattress outside the house. During the effort, the resident sustained burn injuries.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the emergency department of the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) for treatment.

The fire caused partial damage to the home. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the blaze.

Police have launched an investigation to establish how the fire started. No further details about the victim's condition or the extent of the property damage have been released.
