WILLEMSTAD – Friday, October 2, 2026, is the final day to register for the Curaçao Carnival 2027 elections, with organizers reporting strong interest and several categories already nearing capacity.
IBFF and BEEHIVES B.V., the organizations responsible for the elections, announced that registration will officially close on Friday as preparations continue for the January event.
According to Joël Amadou Villarreal, Public Relations Officer and President of the Jury for the Carnival 2027 elections, the number of registrations received so far demonstrates strong community interest in participating in the renewed election process.
Several categories are now almost full.
Villarreal thanked parents, families and participants who have already registered themselves or their children, saying the response reflects confidence in the organization and enthusiasm for Curaçao’s Carnival tradition.
Those registered will have the opportunity to take the stage on January 17, 2027, when participants will showcase their talent, creativity, charisma and passion for Carnival.
The organizers acknowledged that changes to the election process can require time for participants and the public to understand and adapt to new procedures.
“Change can often bring challenges during the process of understanding and adaptation. But when change is aimed at progress, quality and growth, the effort is rewarded by the results we achieve together,” Villarreal said.
IBFF and BEEHIVES B.V. said they are encouraged by the community’s response to the revised process and the large number of registrations already received.
The organizations said the public’s confidence has motivated them to continue working toward an election process characterized by transparency, professionalism and dedication.
Anyone who still wants to participate has until Friday, October 2, to complete registration.
The Carnival 2027 elections are scheduled for January 17, when candidates from the different categories will compete on stage as part of preparations for Curaçao’s 2027 Carnival season.
