WILLEMSTAD – Cooperation between justice institutions across Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Caribbean Netherlands is under increased scrutiny, according to the 2025 annual report of the Raad voor de Rechtshandhaving.
The oversight body conducted a joint investigation into legal assistance requests between the countries, a process seen as crucial for cross-border law enforcement.
The study, carried out across all three jurisdictions, is expected to be finalized in 2026 and aims to improve coordination and efficiency within the Kingdom’s justice framework.
The report emphasizes that effective cooperation is essential to address transnational crime and strengthen the overall functioning of the justice chain.
