WILLEMSTAD – The first edition of the Red Nose Charity Padel Fest has raised nearly 17,000 guilders for CliniClowns Curaçao. The foundation announced this in a press release following the charity event, which was held last Saturday at PadelX.
A total of 29 teams took part in the tournament, with more than 100 participants competing throughout the evening. In addition to the padel matches, participants and visitors were able to join an individual smash challenge and take part in a raffle featuring prizes donated by sponsors.
All proceeds from the event will go directly toward supporting the work of CliniClowns Curaçao.
According to the organizers, the atmosphere on and around the courts was energetic and highly engaged. Beyond the sporting activities, music and entertainment were provided throughout the evening by Maarten Schakel of Curaçao.nu. The additional side activities helped boost fundraising efforts and contributed significantly to the final amount raised.
CliniClowns Curaçao works with sick children, the elderly, people living with dementia and individuals with intellectual disabilities. The organization relies entirely on fundraising initiatives, sponsorships and donations to carry out its activities.
The proceeds from the padel tournament are therefore considered vital in enabling CliniClowns Curaçao to continue its work within healthcare institutions across the island.
