WILLEMSTAD – Red Cross Curaçao has officially launched its annual fundraising campaign for the month of May, calling on the public to contribute as the organization approaches its 95th anniversary milestone.
Throughout the month, volunteers will be actively collecting donations at supermarkets, major companies, and in the city center. Residents can contribute easily using donation boxes or payment terminals available at these locations. Donations can also be made directly via bank transfer to MCB account number 2004.
The campaign aims to strengthen the organization’s ability to respond to emergencies and disasters on the island. According to the Red Cross, every contribution plays a vital role in ensuring continued support during calamities and natural disasters, as well as in providing assistance at public events and delivering training programs for volunteers.
The organization emphasized the growing importance of preparedness, particularly in light of global challenges such as climate change and conflicts that can have far-reaching effects on local communities.
With the fundraising drive now underway, the Red Cross is urging the public to give generously and support its humanitarian mission. Those seeking additional information about the campaign can contact Maisy Scharbay at 461-4630.
As the organization nears nearly a century of service, the message remains clear: community support is essential to continue helping those in need across Curaçao.
