Red Cross Curaçao Launches Humanitarian Response for Earthquake Victims in Venezuela

Local, Venezuela, | By Correspondent June 29, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Red Cross Curaçao has launched several humanitarian initiatives to support victims of the devastating earthquakes that have struck neighboring Venezuela, where the death toll continues to rise and thousands of people have been affected.

According to the organization, the consecutive earthquakes have triggered a severe humanitarian crisis. Authorities in Venezuela report that more than 1,400 people have lost their lives, while many others remain missing.

In response, the Red Cross Curaçao has established a temporary reception center in Pannekoek, Bandabou, to assist travelers who were en route to Venezuela but were forced to divert to Curaçao because of the disaster.

The organization has also activated MCB bank account #2004 to receive financial contributions for the emergency response. All donations made to the account will be used exclusively to provide humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.

The Red Cross Curaçao said it is working closely with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to coordinate relief efforts and ensure that aid reaches those most in need. Should conditions in Venezuela deteriorate further and additional assistance become necessary, the organization said it is prepared to respond quickly and effectively.

The Red Cross emphasized that it will continue to keep the public informed about its humanitarian activities through its official communication channels. At this stage, financial donations through MCB account #2004 remain the fastest and most effective way for the public to support earthquake victims in Venezuela.
