PARIS – French Ligue 1 club RC Lens has expressed serious interest in signing Curaçao international Armando Obispo from PSV Eindhoven and has already submitted an official offer for the 27-year-old defender.
According to reports, the two clubs are currently in negotiations over a potential transfer as Lens looks to strengthen its defense ahead of the new season.
Obispo has been with PSV since the age of seven, progressing through the club's renowned youth academy before establishing himself in the first team. His only spell away from Eindhoven came during a loan stint with Vitesse.
The defender is coming off a strong season with PSV and further enhanced his reputation with an impressive series of performances for Curaçao during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His displays on football's biggest stage are believed to have increased interest from clubs outside the Netherlands.
If the transfer is completed, Obispo would follow in the footsteps of his childhood friends and former PSV academy teammates Cody Gakpo and Jordan Teze, both of whom have previously moved abroad to continue their professional careers.
Neither PSV nor RC Lens has officially commented on the ongoing negotiations, and it remains unclear whether the clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer fee.
