WILLEMSTAD – The Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge will be temporarily closed from Sunday, August 2, until Friday, September 25, to allow for maintenance work.
Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) announced that the temporary closure is necessary to carry out the required maintenance activities on the iconic floating bridge, which connects Punda and Otrobanda.
During the closure period, ferry services will operate daily between the two districts. The ferries will be available from 6:00 a.m. until 10:45 p.m.
For nighttime transportation, between 10:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., buses will replace the ferry service.
In Punda, passengers can board the buses at the entrance of the Queen Emma Bridge. The drop-off point will be located near Cinelandia.
In Otrobanda, passengers can continue to use the regular ferry boarding area for both departures and arrivals.
CPA advises residents and visitors who normally use the bridge to plan their trips accordingly during the maintenance period.
