WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW) has announced that all social assistance recipients will receive the 2026 school clothing allowance payment during payment period 15/2026. The payment is scheduled for July 10, 2026.
Individuals whose income falls below the minimum wage may submit applications beginning June 1, 2026, at their respective neighborhood centers (Kas di Bario).
Who Qualifies for the School Clothing Allowance?
To qualify for the allowance, applicants must meet the following conditions:
• The parent, guardian, or tutor must either receive social assistance benefits or have an income below the minimum wage.
• Both the child and the parent/guardian must be registered in Curaçao’s Civil Registry.
• Foreign children must have a valid residence permit and be registered in the Civil Registry of Curaçao.
• The child must be between 4 and 18 years old and enrolled in a government-subsidized school, including:
* Funderend Onderwijs (Primary Education)
* Special Education
* SBO
* HAVO
* VWO
Required Documents
Applicants must present the following documents when submitting their request:
• A valid ID card, driver's license, or passport of the parent, guardian, tutor, or authorized representative submitting the application.
• The child’s ID card, birth certificate, or family booklet.
• A school enrollment declaration for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• An income declaration from the Tax Inspectorate (for individuals with income below the minimum wage).
• Applicants with income below the minimum wage who maintain a current account with Banco di Caribe or another local bank must provide their bank account number and the most recent bank statement.
