WILLEMSTAD – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas met on Monday, March 23, 2026, with representatives of the Curaçao Business Association (VBC) to discuss recent developments in the international energy market and their potential impact on the island.
During the meeting, VBC expressed concerns about the evolving situation and indicated its willingness to actively contribute to measures aimed at mitigating the effects on Curaçao’s economy.

Prime Minister Pisas welcomed the constructive approach of the business community and invited the organization to continue participating in upcoming multidisciplinary meetings on the issue. According to the Prime Minister, the government values the expertise and experience of the private sector in addressing these challenges.
A follow-up meeting involving various stakeholders is scheduled for Friday, March 27.
The discussions took place in a constructive and respectful atmosphere, with a shared focus on dialogue, cooperation, and collective responsibility for the stability and well-being of Curaçao.
