Prime Minister Pisas Attends Inauguration of Costa Rica’s New President

SAN JOSÉ – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas attended the official inauguration ceremony of Laura Fernández on Friday, May 8, 2026, in San José.

The ceremony took place at the Estadio Nacional and was attended by heads of state and government, international dignitaries, and representatives of regional and international organizations.

Fernández was officially sworn in as the new president of Costa Rica for the 2026–2030 governing term.

According to the government of Curaçao, Prime Minister Pisas expressed his best wishes to President Fernández and wished her success during her presidency.

Pisas also emphasized his hope that Costa Rica and Curaçao will continue strengthening their ties of friendship and cooperation, with both countries working together for the benefit of their peoples and mutual development.

The visit forms part of Curaçao’s broader efforts to maintain and deepen diplomatic and regional relations with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
