| By Correspondent March 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Police carried out a traffic control operation on Saturday in the area of Jan Thiel, focusing primarily on improperly parked vehicles and other traffic violations.

During the operation, officers identified 30 vehicles that were illegally parked. Most of the cars were parked on or near a roundabout in the area. The vehicles were towed by a tow truck and transported to a designated storage facility.

In addition to the towing actions, officers issued 29 fines for various traffic offenses. These included drivers operating vehicles without a valid inspection certificate or insurance.

Six additional vehicles were also taken to the impound yard in Mahuma because their documentation was not in order.

Police said similar traffic control operations will be carried out more frequently in the coming period.
