Police Seek Witnesses After Gunmen Open Fire on Group Along F.D. Rooseveltweg

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police are appealing for witnesses and video footage in connection with a shooting that took place on Sunday, June 14, in the parking lot of a store along F.D. Rooseveltweg.

The incident occurred between approximately 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

According to police, two armed men fired several shots in the direction of a group of four people. Investigators believe the suspects intended to kill one or more members of the group.

Despite the gunfire, no one was seriously injured.

After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in a gray Kia Rio with dark-tinted windows. Police believe the vehicle may be a model from between 2022 and 2024.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or noticed anything unusual in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

Police are also seeking information about the two suspects and the Kia Rio, including from people who may have seen the vehicle shortly before or after the shooting.

In addition, investigators are asking residents and businesses to check whether they have surveillance-camera footage, dashcam recordings or mobile-phone videos showing the suspects, the vehicle or anything else that could assist the investigation.
