Local, Police, | By Correspondent October 1, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao police have released video footage of a car that left an apartment complex in Klein Zuurzak shortly after the murder of Curaçao Medical Center nurse Rachied Paulina. Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about the case to come forward.

Paulina, 30, who was known among colleagues as Chito, was found dead in an apartment on Kaya di Montaña in the early morning hours of Monday, September 21. According to information previously released by police, he suffered a fatal cut to his neck.

A vehicle was seen leaving the apartment complex shortly after the incident. Police have now made a short video of the car public as investigators continue trying to determine what happened and who was involved in Paulina’s death.

Earlier reports indicated that employees at the apartment complex went to investigate after receiving no response from inside the apartment. A woman reportedly emerged from the residence, entered a vehicle and drove away. While leaving the property, she allegedly struck the barrier at the exit.

The vehicle was subsequently found damaged in Montaña Abou.

Police have not announced any arrests in connection with Paulina’s death.

The latest appeal also does not indicate whether investigators have established the identity of the person who was driving the vehicle. Authorities have also not said whether the woman referred to in earlier reports is formally considered a suspect in the murder investigation.

Paulina worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department at Curaçao Medical Center. Following his death, the hospital remembered him as a dedicated and calm colleague who was known for the caring way he treated patients.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Curaçao Police Force is urging anyone who recognizes the vehicle shown in the newly released footage, or who has other information that could assist detectives, to contact police.

Information can be provided anonymously by calling 108.
