Police Issue Numerous Fines During Traffic Control in Montaña

Local, Police, | By Correspondent April 14, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Korps Politie Curaçao issued a large number of fines during a traffic control operation in the Montaña area, targeting violations such as not wearing seatbelts and excessively tinted car windows.

The operation took place in the morning along the Rignald S. Recordino Road, near the Santa Rosa church. Officers specifically focused on drivers failing to use seatbelts and vehicles equipped with window tint (“glass film”) that does not comply with legal standards.

According to police, the inspection revealed widespread non-compliance with traffic regulations. A significant number of motorists were fined for not wearing seatbelts, while several others received citations for windows that were too dark.

Authorities say such controls are part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and ensure compliance with traffic laws on Curaçao.
