| By Correspondent March 13, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Police in Curaçao carried out an enforcement operation against illegal parking in downtown Willemstad on Wednesday, issuing approximately 23 fines to motorists who had parked their vehicles in prohibited locations.

The operation took place in Punda and the nearby Pietermaai district. Officers focused primarily on vehicles parked on sidewalks, in spaces reserved for loading and unloading goods, and in areas where parked cars obstructed the visibility of other road users or disrupted the flow of traffic.

During the action, several vehicles were inspected and ticketed. According to the police, improperly parked vehicles not only cause inconvenience but can also create dangerous traffic situations by limiting visibility and hindering safe movement on the roads.

The Curaçao Police Force indicated that similar enforcement operations will continue in the city center as part of efforts to improve traffic safety and accessibility in Willemstad.
