Police Investigate Theft of Curaçao Football Team Merchandise Worth Over ANG 80,000

Local, Police, | By Correspondent June 24, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Police have launched an investigation into a burglary at the CPA premises near Motet Wharf, where a group of men allegedly stole a large quantity of official Curaçao football merchandise belonging to the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK).

According to police, the suspects managed to bypass security at the facility during the night and broke into a storage depot used by Corendon, the main sponsor of Curaçao’s national football team.

Authorities said the thieves made off with a substantial number of official FFK training suits and shirts. The official match jerseys used by the national team were reportedly not taken.

Police estimate the value of the stolen merchandise at more than ANG 80,000.

Investigators believe the burglary may have been an inside job. According to police, security camera footage shows the suspects acting in a targeted manner and specifically selecting FFK-related items rather than other goods stored at the location.

The case is being treated as a high-priority investigation, particularly given the national attention surrounding Curaçao’s participation in the FIFA World Cup.

Police are urging members of the public not to purchase FFK clothing from questionable sources in the coming days and weeks. Authorities warn that stolen merchandise may be offered for sale through unofficial channels.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is being asked to contact the police immediately.

No arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
