WILLEMSTAD – Police are continuing their investigation into a fire that broke out yesterday on the premises of Heavy Mix in the Heintje Kool area, leaving three concrete mixer trucks severely damaged.
The vehicles, described as relatively new additions to the company’s fleet, had recently been acquired to strengthen its concrete transport operations. Despite the rapid response of firefighters, who immediately began extinguishing the blaze, the trucks sustained significant material damage.
Authorities are treating the incident as suspected arson. No injuries were reported.
The extent of the financial loss has not yet been disclosed, but the damage is expected to impact the company’s operational capacity in the short term. Investigators are working to determine how the fire started and whether there are any suspects involved.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
